We just finished recording our debut album "As Above, So Below" and I can't put into words how proud we are. The album has been in the works for about 2 years now, it has a mix of HEAVY metalcore and creative new elements. We went into the recording process with about half of it written and ready, and the other half built up in the studio with John Moyer from Disturbed and Matt Novesky from Blue October. Lying Figure, the second single, is themed after Silent Hill for Halloween and comes out 10/31/25. One of the meaner tracks on the album for sure. We can't wait to show the world what this album has in store.” - Dierks Canada

SOUTH central metalcore

With all four members having such broad music palates, their sound is a rich combination
of styles that act as a mixed tape connecting generations. Metalcore, cyberpunk, rock and
pop are all used to describe the band’s flavor, but no matter the specific ingredients, the
aftertaste is always just as good as the first bite. Their debut full-length album As Above, So
Below will break ground later this year.

Despite their very young ages ranging from 17 to 21, Waves in April lost their proverbial
baby teeth on the performance stage years ago having played notable venues and music
festivals across the country and internationally. From a handful of performances at the
coveted Mile 0 Fest in Key West, Florida to a short but to the point run with rockers
Kingdom Collapse to the Rock in Rio festival in Brazil, the young motley-genre band has
rocked massive festival crowds for years, and their wisdom teeth have only just arrived. In
August 2025, Waves in April will make their debut performance at Rocklahoma, the hard
rock and metal music festival that draws hundreds of thousands each year to Pryor,
Oklahoma.

“When I say the entire band ran around my house with excitement when we were told that we
secured a spot at Rocklahoma, I’m not exaggerating. I mean we’re talking the big leagues,
stuff we’ve dreamed about since we started this back in 2019. Not only is it a massive
opportunity for us to be exposed to thousands, but we’re also playing along the same lineup as
the bands all four of us grew up loving. Breaking Ben and Three Days Grace raised us on the
radio back here in New Braunfels, Texas. We’re also on the same bill as one of our current
idols Knocked Loose? Are we dreaming? We’re so thankful that the Rocklahoma team is giving
us a chance to show the world what we’ve got, and we’re confident people will like it.”
